Introduction

This product is a biological fermentation product, and its active ingredient is gibberellic acid. Gibberellic acid was discovered during the research on rice blast disease, it is a general term for a class of compounds that have a gibberellin skeleton and can stimulate cell division and elongation. lt belongs to plant growth regulators and is one of the import-ant hormones that promote plant growth and development.

Functions of Gibberellic Acid

1

Promote stem elongation: The most significant physiological effect of gibberellic acid is to promote plant growth, mainly by promoting cell elongation and promoting the growth of the whole plant. Treatment with gibberellic acid can significantly promote the growth of plant stems, especially the effect on dwarf mutant varieties is particularly obvious.

2

Break dormancy: Treating dormant potatoes with 2~3ug.g of gibberellic acid can make them sprout quickly, thus meeting the need for planting potatoes multiple times a year. For seeds that need light and low temperature to germinate, such as lettuce, tobac.co, perilla, plum and apple, gibberellic acid can replace light and low temperature to break dormancy. This is because gibberellic acid can induce the synthesis of a-amylase, protease and other hydrolytic enzymes, catalyze the degradation of stored substances in the seeds, to provide for embryo growth and development.

3

Induce flowering: The differentiation of flower buds in some higher plants is influenced by day length (i.e., photoperiod) and temperature. For example, for biennial plants a certain number of days of low-temperature treatment (i.e., vernalization) is needed to flower, otherwise they show rosette growth and cannot bolt to flower. If gibberellic acid is applied to these non-vernalized plants, flowering can be induced without the low-temperature process, and the effect is very obvious. In addition, it can also replace long day length to induce flowering in some long-day plants, but gibberellic acid has no promoting effect on the differentiation of flower buds in short-day plants. For plants with differentiated flower buds, gibberellic acid has a significant promoting effect on the opening of their flowers. For example, gibberellic acid can promote the flowering of stevia, lron tree, and plants of the Cupressaceae and Pinaceae families.

4

Promote the differentiation of male flowers: For monoecious plants, after treatment with gibberellic acid, the proportion of male flowers increases; for dioecious plants, if the female plants are treated with gibberellic acid, male flowers will also bloom.

5

Other physiological effects: Gibberellic acid can also enhance the mobilization effect of auxin on nutrients, promote certain plants to set fruit and unisexual fruiting, delay leaf senescence, etc. in addition, gibberellic acid can also promote cell division and differentiation.
