Application
Resveratrol is a natural polyphenolic compound found in plants such as grapes, Japanese knotweed, peanuts, and mulberries. It is a "phytoalexin" synthesized by plants in response to biological or abiotic stresses such as fungal infection, ultraviolet radiation, and mechanical damage. It is part of the plant's immune system.

Target diseases: It has a significant inhibitory effect on Botrytis cinerea-induced gray mold (common in strawberries, grapes, tomatoes, etc.). In addition, it also has certain control potential for powdery mildew, downy mildew, anthracnose, etc.
Application method: By foliar spraying, resveratrol can induce defense responses in plant leaves and fruits, forming an "invisible" protective barrier that makes it difficult for fungi to infect and spread.
Studies have shown that resveratrol also has inhibitory effects on some plant pathogenic bacteria, such as Ralstonia solanacearum and Xanthomonas campestris. It can interfere with the formation of bacterial biofilms and disrupt the structure of cell membranes, thereby inhibiting their growth.
This is a very promising direction. Resveratrol can activate the systemic acquired resistance (SAR) of plants, putting the entire plant in a "state of alert". When a virus invades, the plant can more quickly and strongly activate its defense mechanisms, such as producing pathogenesis-related proteins (PR proteins), thereby reducing the symptoms and damage caused by viral diseases. For example, studies on tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) have shown good results.
Although not as deeply studied as its anti-disease effects, resveratrol also shows certain feeding repellency and growth inhibitory effects on some insects (such as aphids and mites). It may affect the feeding behavior or normal development of insects.
As a secondary metabolite of plants, resveratrol at appropriate concentrations can also promote plant growth, enhance the plants' stress resistance (such as drought and salt-alkali resistance), and improve crop quality.
The mechanism of action of resveratrol is multi-faceted, with the core being the stimulation of plant immunity.
Mimicking phytoalexin signals: When exogenous resveratrol is applied to plants, the plants will "mistakenly" think they are under attack by pathogenic bacteria and thus rapidly initiate defense responses.
Activating defense signaling pathways: It can crucially activate defense hormone signaling pathways such as salicylic acid (SA) and jasmonic acid (JA), which are at the core of the plant immune system.
Inducing expression of disease-resistant related genes: It prompts plants to produce pathogenesis-related proteins (PR proteins), trigger reactive oxygen species (ROS) bursts, and thicken cell walls (such as lignin deposition), among other physical and chemical defenses.
Direct antibacterial activity: At higher concentrations, it can also directly damage the cell membranes of pathogenic bacteria, interfere with their energy metabolism, and exert bacteriostatic or bactericidal effects.
1. Spray the pesticide at the initial stage of cucumber gray mold disease.
2. Do not apply the pesticide on windy days or when rain is expected within one hour.
3. Apply the pesticide twice with an interval of 7 to 10 days.
