Application

Pyrethrin is a mixture of insecticidal substances extracted from the flowers of Chrysanthemum cinerariifolium (also known as Pyrethrum cinerariifolium). It is one of the earliest discovered and most widely used natural insecticides by humans, renowned for its high efficiency, low residue, and low toxicity to warm-blooded animals.

Target of attack: Sodium ion channels in insect nerve cells.

Interference conduction: It can delay the closure of sodium ion channels, resulting in the continuous inward flow of sodium ions.

Cause paralysis: This continuous stimulation can disrupt the normal conduction of nerves, causing nerve cells to repeatedly release excitatory signals.

Final death: The pests will first show extreme excitement, convulsions, and paralysis, and will eventually be quickly "knocked down" and die.

This process is very rapid, so pyrethrin has a powerful "knockdown effect".

Agricultural Pest Control

Green and organic agriculture: Due to their natural origin and low residue, they are the pesticides allowed to be used in the production of green and organic food.

Target pests: It is highly effective against small, piercing-sucking mouthpart pests such as aphids, thrips, whiteflies, leafhoppers, and cabbage worms.

It is often used for high-value crops such as vegetables, tea, and fruit trees, and is particularly suitable for application near the harvest period.

Advantages and Limitations

Advantages

Highly efficient and broad-spectrum: Effective against a variety of pests with rapid knockdown.

Environmentally friendly: It can quickly decompose into carbon dioxide and water in sunlight and air without polluting the environment.

Safe for humans and animals: Extremely low toxicity to mammals, safe to use.

Minimal residue: highly suitable for use on agricultural products during the harvest period.

Good biocompatibility: It has little impact on birds, but attention should be paid to its toxicity to bees and aquatic organisms.

Limitations

Photoinstability: It decomposes rapidly under light exposure and has a very short persistence period (usually only 1-2 days), which limits its large-scale application in the field.

Highly toxic to aquatic organisms: extremely toxic to fish, shrimp, crabs, etc. Keep away from water bodies when in use.

Highly toxic to bees: Although safe for mammals, it is highly toxic to pollinating insects such as bees. Its application should be avoided during the flowering period of crops.

Non-systemic: It only works through contact and ingestion, and is less effective against pests hidden inside the plant.Storage & Transport: Store sealed in dark, cool place (≤30℃); away from flames.

Shelf Life: 1 year.
